Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine is seeking dedicated professionals to join our Editorial Board as Associate Editors. As Infect Dis Trop Med continues to grow and as we aim to broaden the scope of our publication, the need to expand our editorial team has become essential to handle the increasing number of submissions while maintaining our high editorial standards.
We’re Looking for Experts in:
• Infectious Diseases: Covering all aspects from basic research to clinical trials, including prevention, innovative treatment options, and public health implications.
• Tropical Medicine: Focusing on diseases prevalent in tropical regions, including their epidemiology, pathology, and treatment strategies.
• Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics: Exploring drug responses in the context of infectious diseases and tropical medicine, including drug development and genetic influences on drug efficacy.
• Public Health and Epidemiology: Addressing the broader impact of infectious diseases and strategies for disease prevention and control.
• Clinical-Experimental Research: Innovations in diagnosis and treatment based on clinical trials and experimental research.
• Virology and Virus-Related Tumors: Research on viruses leading to or associated with tumor development, including basic, translational, and clinical research.
• Geriatrics and Infectious Diseases: Understanding the unique challenges and treatment strategies for elderly patients with infectious diseases.
• Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases: Specializing in the study and treatment of infectious diseases in children, from neonates to adolescents.
Aims & Scope
Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine (Infect Dis Trop Med) is an international, peer-reviewed medical journal that publishes fully open-access articles. We are committed to covering all areas of basic and clinical research related to Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. Our scope includes but is not limited to, basic research, prevention, translational research, public health, pharmacology, treatment, and innovative diagnostic approaches.
Who are we looking for?
We seek experienced individuals who are passionate about open access, data sharing, and advancing scientific publishing. Applicants should be willing to dedicate approximately two to three hours per week to handle journal submissions.
Requirements:
- A minimum of ten (10) research papers about Infectious Diseases published in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
- Prior experience as a Reviewer is advantageous.

- Commitment to our journal’s ethics, scope, editorial standards, and policies.
- A professional and supportive approach to authors, ensuring manuscripts fulfill the journal’s requirements and are handled efficiently through peer review.
Role and Responsibilities
As a member of the Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine Editorial Board, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the journal’s quality and integrity. We work closely with our in-house staff, who oversee the submissions, peer review, and acceptance of papers, to ensure a smooth and efficient publication process. As an editorial board member, your responsibilities will include:
- Manuscript assessment and adjudication: Occasionally, you may be asked by the Journal Editor to assist in the initial assessment of submitted manuscripts before they undergo peer review. This may also include helping to adjudicate articles in cases of contradictory reviewer recommendations, ensuring fairness and scholarly integrity in the publication process.
- Manuscript submission: Editorial board members are encouraged to contribute to the journal’s content by providing one (1) manuscript submission per year. This can be your own original research, review articles, commentaries, or editorials. All submissions will undergo the standard peer review process, and acceptance is contingent upon the completion of any revisions requested by peer reviewers. Upon acceptance, EBMs must sign the standard Article Publishing Agreement.
- Promotion and advocacy: As ambassadors of IDTM, EBMs should actively promote the journal and encourage the submission of high-quality manuscripts. Your advocacy will help enhance the journal’s scientific reputation and contribute to its growth by attracting groundbreaking research in infectious diseases and tropical medicine.
- Feedback and development: Your insights are invaluable to us. We encourage EBMs to provide feedback from their scientific and medical peers to improve and develop the journal further. Suggestions for key topics, commissioning articles, or manuscript procurement campaigns are welcome. Participation in occasional Editorial Board forums or organized calls to discuss journal initiatives and improvements is also an important aspect of this role.
